Step 1: The Situation
- You are about to observe the review function of an emergency planning exercise utilising the Resilience online simulator.
- A scenario was authored by Brian, the Plant Training Team Manager, in order to test and evaluate the production team members and validate the plant emergency plan.
- A multi-play exercise was selected, but the scenario could be used for single person play if required
Step 2: The Exercise
- Peter, who has little leadership experience, was put in charge as Incident Officer
- His colleagues performed other roles in the Exercise
- Each player accessed the simulation via their desktop
- Brian authored a scenario that began as a normal working day
- A small fire started near one of the chlorine tanks
- Augmented reality images were used to enhance the training experience
Step 3: The Training Objectives
- Test knowledge and understanding of the Plant Emergency Plan
- Assess the thought processes and decision making of Peter while acting as the Incident Officer
- Practice communication between all participants
- Evaluate how good the plant evacuation procedures actually were
